Hi Alan,

I disagree with you on one thing. I think the computer generated beats Sweetback used gave them individuality. It showed us as Sade lovers that the band can like a jazz solo go off in one direction make a true mark ( as the best slow sex album ever ) and return to its source of energy.

Thanks, Mandella Lightbourne

Hi Alan,

There really isn't anything to say that hasn't already been said...I always pretend that I'm her and singing her songs, of course no one can come close...her music carries you away to another world she and knows of what she sings. You can simply dedicate her music to the one you love and instanly know they truly love you! She is truly the one and only queen of love and I can't wait until I can see her in person. Even if its just for a moment, a glance...she will live forever in or hearts now and always...

Thanks, Monica R. Ochoa

Hi Alan,

WOW, Sade she has touched me like no other singer??? she is the creator of this Neo-Classic Soul her and marvin gaye...That umbrella includes artist such Erkah Badu, D'Angelo, Chico, Angie Stone, Jill Scott, Rashaan Patterson, Kenny Lattimore, Sparkle, Bilal, Macy Gray, Guru...but you have to check thos albums for yourself..Sade is so good cos they made r&b so personal so mysterious, so enticing, so inviting, with a voice that could open your heart or open your eyes...and music that gently sweeps your soul..they always leave you longing to hear more...She has a soul that is soooo pure, that i wish she would drop an album every two years cos i get upset sometimes when i have to wait 4 and 8 years but then I put in a CD of hers and feel so good ...it likes a have a song for different moods to make me feel better, to make me think etc....

But if you like Sade and true sade fan
you have know some of artists she likes and are similar to her
Everything But the Girl
N'Dea Davenport
Amel (who you mentioned)
OLU
Maxwell
George Michael (older)
Alana Davis....
they all have a voice and have a very personal way of delivering songs.....

Her new CD Lover is great
Somebody already broke my heart(classic)
King of Sorrow (classic)

Hi Alan,

That was great on Sade. I never know there were so many fans in the web. Sade's music has been with me since her first CD came out in 1985. I was a college student at that time and her songs always eased me. I am from Malaysia and its quite difficult to get her CDs here. Some even could not remember her until listening to the Smooth Operator.
Keep on your effort and thanks again honey.

Thanks, Ringo Star

Hi Alan,

This is one of the best Sade websites I have ever seen. It shows you put a lot of effort into it. I like how you share your feelings about Sade and Sweetback. It makes it more personal. It's not just a list of a bunch of facts and info. Plus you've got great pictures. Good Job!

Thanks, Regina

Hi Alan,

I live in London and luckily I was a Sade fan from the age of four when Smooth Operator was released and I can't get enough of her. I checked out some of Amel's songs on the website you included and I just wanted to say THANK YOU cause I had never heard of her before and she is amazing. I'm buying the album Infinite Possibilities tomorrow!!! England's so lame - we never get good songs here Anyway cheers again and congrats on quite a cool website.

Thanks, Ofer

Hi Alan,

I have also been a fan of Sade since age four when her first album came out
in '85. I'm just beginning to really start to build a CD collection and
become more liberal with what I spend on music. Even still, I have always
been extremely picky and oddly enough, Sade is the only artist whose entire
discography I own (with the exception of Best of Sade (why when you already
have every song)). I also have been a fan of Amel Larrieux since her
beginning with Groove Theory. They (Sade and Amel) don't sound very much
alike. Sade's voice is very unconventional and only works in the smooth
jazzy genre of music. Amel, on the other hand, has a more conventional sound
that can transcend different genres. She would sound good even if she
switched to country (the world would end if she did). The only thing they
have in common is that they're music is extremely honest and personal, and
they are truly mesmerizing. And when I mesmerizing, I mean mesmerizing.

Hi Alan,

I would hope that this message reaches Sade. I have always enjoyed Sade's music because it so unique. It has always had a clean, clear sound - until I heard "By Your Side". "By Your Side" has a wonderful melody and great lyrics, BUT it is all terribly overshadowed by the sloppy guitar work - all you hear are
the strings squeaking each time the guitarist changes cords. To some of us, it is like someone running their fingernail down a chalkboard. I know that musicians and vocalists more often than not lay their tracks separately when in the studio, most times not even seeing one another but, I would think that an artist of Sade's caliber would have heard the final product before release. When I listen to her other works that are so polished and pure, I sincerely doubt she had the chance to approve this release. I hope in the future that Sade regains the control of her work and that I will again hear that polished and pure sound I have come to associate with Sade.

Thanks, Sandi Hartwell

Hi Alan,

Thanks so very much for working so hard to bring such a great site together for all to enjoy. For me, I will never forget how Sade changed my life. I have always listened closely to her lyrics and imagine what sorrow or pain she may have experienced in her life to write such beautiful music. I was surprised to learn that she is only five months older than me, born in 1959. It also struck me that she had been married and divorced. I had been married for seventeen years and recently divorced. I have listened to every single album that Sade has created over the years and it just struck me how the words and lyrics make so much sense when she would sing about pain, love, and sorrow. Perhaps my most cherish time of all was walking into a record store one day and hearing that sweet voice playing, none other than Sade herself. Her latest at the time was "Love Deluxe", and as I approached closer to the music, it just blew me away.....No question, from day on, I became a huge fan of Sade's. She eased my pain and my sorrow from the tough times I had with my divorce. She became a love and soul mate of mine, where ever I went, so did she. Sade was in fact, "No Ordinary Love"! She was the "Kiss of my Life", and every song on that album was like an angel singing from heaven to me. May she be forever blessed as she gave me strength and hope that love is always lerking around the corner, you just have to "Cherish the Day"....each and every one.
Thank God, she is coming to Boston, Mass. I purchased my tickets some time ago and can't wait to finally see this beautiful lady singing live in front of my eyes. I am from Maine, and think that Sade reminds me often of just how beautiful things can be. She is private and personal, just like me......

Thanks, Kevin

Hi Alan,

I am also a Sade FANatic.  I have just about every
Sade release.  I am also a dj and I spin
alot of her remixes in my club.  I realize that she
does not usually authorize dance remixes
but as a dj I know that these remixes introduce her to
people that would not normally
appreciate her mellow style of music.  I recently did
a remix myself and was wondering if
you would review it on your site. It is a house remix
of The Sweetest Taboo.

Thanks, David
